Tehachapi Energy Storage

Co-located with Terra-Gen’s existing wind generation resources in Kern County, California, the Tehachapi Energy Storage project has the capacity to produce 77 MW of safe and reliable energy. The facility, Terra-Gen’s first operational battery energy storage project, reached commercial operations in 2020.

The project provides short-duration energy storage capable of producing enough electricity to power approximately 77,000 homes at full output.
